Corona Virus - You and Us

Due to the present situation with the COVID-19 virus, we like most others are changing certain aspects to our business practice, A temporary measure to comply with government instruction, advise and general safety for our customers and indeed ourselves.

Shipping of Goods
We are somewhat fortunate in our location, as one would argue that we self isolate most days anyway!
We will however be reducing the shipping days within a typical week in order to minimise any unnecessary person to person contact. Twice per week instead of the normal four or five.
UPDATE: The main Post Office to us is presently closed until further notice, although we are expecting this to temporary.
We do have the benefit of other smaller offices locally, although they are working on greatly reduced opening times. This will clearly affect the shipping opportunities open to us, however we will do all we can to keep things moving.

Visits
Although most would not wish to do so anyway at this time, we will not be able to entertain visits to the premises for a short while. Any appointments already arranged would have already been notified of this.
UPDATE: Common knowledge of course, but NO visits are now permitted to the premises until further notice.

Production
We are reliant on very few raw materials from outside sources, and as such are well equipped to continue production on site as normal.
UPDATE: We are still able to retain our restoration workshop as normal, however the foundry is restricted at this time due to location.

Existing Orders
As explained above, production will continue as normal and as such any outstanding orders will continue to be processed.

Arms Fairs
Although at the time of writing we have not heard from any of our show organisers in regards to the future shows for the year, we can only assume that the June exhibition at Birmingham is being assessed by the organisers based on outcome in the coming weeks.
We will notify of any changes to those exhibition arrangements that we are made aware of.
For those who organise overnight stays around the shows it may be prudent to book your stay with a company who permit 'Pay on arrival' or offer a full cancellation and refund policy.
UPDATE: Obviously any gatherings of any type are now prohibited, and it should be assumed no further exhibitions will be standing until advised otherwise. We remain hopefull that the exhibitions towards end of the year may be permitted.

Although our implementations are slight, we do hope that goes some way in contributing to the overall solution to this somewhat unprecedented situation we all face.
Any changes to the above we will notify of immediately.

Thank you,
E J Blackley and Son
